After years of traveling to new cities and hiring talent practically "sight-unseen" through talent agencies (who collected exorbitant fees), we were frequently "slipped" a business card from actors who said, "the next time you need talent, you can call me directly."
For clients with smaller budgets we posted ads on Craigslist and found actors who were as talented as those who were listed with large agencies. Eventually we decided to open up a talent pool of our own.
